My name is Heather, and I have become affectionately known as the gamer's wife. It wasn't a title I ever thought I would assume, but I deal.
I am married to Chris, the gamer.
He is soft-spoken; I am loud. While he is calm during times of crisis, I freak out. He is a go-with-the-flow guy, while I am a worrier and planner. He is exceptionally patient, while I am increasingly impatient. He is quiet; I am opinionated. He listens; I talk. He is street smart; I am book smart. He is almost always late; I am almost always too early. He has a knack for everything technological, but can't cook dinner or stay organized to save his life. I on the other hand can't even program a VCR, but I keep our home life running smoothly.
I am not a gamer, nor am I really a fan of video games. We have a Playstation 2 and Wii in our house, and occasionally rotate out use of the Playstation 3 and XBox with other gamer friends. During the first few years of this blog the gamer spent a lot of time playing WOW, but he's since given up that game (thank goodness!). He also used to have the time to be a pretty intense gamer, but in 2010 he started physical therapy school so unfortunately (fortunately??) gaming hasn't gotten to be as much of a priority!
There is a lot more to us than just being the gamer and the gamer's wife! But you'll have to read this blog to find out more :)

I also reference the gamer a lot, what it's like living with a gamer, and try to post interesting news articles and other bits of information that can be helpful to the other gamer's wives out there.

Hey, I just started a blog about being a gamer's wife too. I actually tried this title and it was unavail (duh, now!) but its good to see other wives recognize that we should unite! I JUST started based on my husband waiting on Monday night for Battlefield blah blah blah 2... and I told him "either I need to write a how to not divorce your geek or a blog about being a gamer wife". I did not try to take your idea, I promise! Like I said, I started TODAY - all based on the geeky husbands NEED to play that game all night Monday, Tuesday and all day today (Wednesday). Luckily he's the manager and states his days off... but really - BASED ON A VIDEOGAME RELEASE!? Please tell me you understand!!!!! We should collaborate!!!!!!!!!
